Spooky Beginnings…
When I was 9, I lived in an old Victorian Hotel in upstate New York. The 3rd floor was vacant and spooky, and my younger brother and I would often sneak up there to play hide and seek and scare each other, of course. At some point, I got the idea to write a letter from a murderer’s POV confessing to a murder. I brought it into school and convinced my third-grade friends I’d found it in the wall of one of those empty, spooky rooms, and they begged me to look for more letters. I haven’t stopped writing since.
